Don't Put It Off Until Tomorrow

I have heard stories of people who deal with traumatic childhood experiences in life, repress the emotions and even the details of the event only to have it resurface later in adulthood. I never knew how paralyzingly this actually was until it has happened to me. I didn't even know why I was dealing with another bout of depression. One day I watched a report online about things that had actually happened to me during my childhood. As I listened to the stories of others, the pain and memories came flooding back. My past has returned and the child inside who has always felt lost, alone and overlooked had returned. I decided to take these emotions deal with them and move past it as quickly as I could.

Is the pain gone? Is the event erased? No. But I can see that God has protected me from much worst and allowed me to use the things I have seen, heard, and felt for His glory. I am renewed and refreshed. Ready to go on and make a better today for myself and my family. I am no longer angry, bitter and broken. I am happy, refreshed and mended. I will carry my scars with pride and know each time I am reminded of the past I will be reminded of where I came from and why my it is so important to go on living and showing others a life blessed by Christ.

If you are dealing with troubles, depression, pain, whatever. Talk about it, research your past for clues, and see a doctor in case medication is needed. Sometimes doctors can prescribe something for a few months to help with the overload of emotions so the cause of pain can be found. No matter what Don't Put It Off Until Tomorrow....deal with it today and let tomorrow be the day of joy and peace...the work will be done.
